Jetstar is absolutley pathetic, they could have made this situation much easier on there customers just by informing them well before their scheduled departures that they had been canceled. I understand that they offer cheap flights and cant afford to fly below the ash cloud, but surely the least they can do is update their website asap or text their customers (as their website states). We had a flight booked for 4.30 yesterday, after numerous attempts calling them we finally got through an hour before our flight and were told that our flight had been canceled, but there was no information on their website. I feel for those who had no option but to physically go to the airport and find out that way. Additional flights for those affected should be made available! apologies for my moaning but it is such a frustrating situation for everyone involved especially those waiting at the airport.

Totally agree with you Mike. Was due to fly out to Singapore on Monday morning but gave up trying to contact Jetstar by about 8 PM that night as it was impossible to get through by phone (the only contact details listed on web site is 0800 number). Despite their site saying they would contact customers I haven't heard a word. My Travel agent is doing their best to keep me informed but they are having no luck dealing with them either. I don't blame anyone for "mother nature" but Jetstars customer service is none existant-they appear to have pretty much closed up shop in this regard. Shame on you Jetstar

Well said Mike. If any airline is planning on cancelling flights they need to let their customers ASAP. I am due to fly from Dunedin to Auckland on Wednesday morning. Hopefully my flight doesn't get cancelled.
