The man accused of the murder of Scott Guy, Ewen Macdonald, has appeared in court this morning.

The 31-year-old Mr Guy was fatally shot in his own driveway last July, an attack which sparked an extensive police investigation and repeated public calls from the Guy family for information on the killer.

The investigation came to a head last month when his brother-in-law, Ewen Macdonald, was arrested.

Appearing in the Palmerston North District Court, Macdonald entered no plea for the murder charge.

All other details of the case have been suppressed and Macdonald has been remanded until he appears in court on August 3rd.

Macdonald’s wife Anna – Scott Guy’s sister – was in court, as were Mr Guy’s mother and father, as was Macdonald’s father Terry.
