@Silveradocyn... dunno where you were during the Ady Gil drama. You've bought into the SS hype and lies about the responsibility for the collision. The Gil accelerated across the bow of the Japanese vessel at the very last instant. 2 seconds earlier and the crew area would have become the impact area. Much later Bethune decided to scuttle the Gil - his decision and a very stupid one as the vessel was salvageable but at the time the publicity was of greater value. Those SS supporters who claim that the Japanese were at fault are both blind and ignorant. Watson dumped Bethune when Bethune became too much of liability and too much of an ego competitor! Live the facts guys!!!!

Speed - Wow talk about a loss of credibility - Ady Gil was 2 years ago. Yes the finances on that "donation" seem to be a mess, but I don't see how it was a "suicide mission". No one made the Japanese ram it the helmsman of the Japanese Security ship made a choice to approach the Ady Gil, and then turned into the smaller boat at the last minute.

I suspect this could be a crucial season. It will prove to be more and more costly for the Japanese to come here to slaughter whales and eventually the cost and world opinion will swing the way of the whales in the Southern Sanctuary. Obviously the world media will be focussed on the Southern Ocean this season.

This guy (Watson) has lost all credibility, after sending the Ardy Gill on a suicide mission last year. 1.2 million boat sunk for an ego trip. Gill who put up the money will not have anything to do with him,(Watson)
