Search and rescue workers are continuing to sweep the Waikato River - searching for a missing 82-year-old grandmother who hasn't been seen since last week.

Audrey Gibson left her hairdresser's in the Hamilton suburb of Queenswood at around 4.30pm on Wednesday but never returned home.

Police spokesman Andrew McAlley says foul play can't be ruled out and hopes witnesses will come forward.

Mrs Gibson is described as a grey haired Caucasian - who was wearing a white sleeveless shirt with a white and brown jersey.

Everybodys checking the near ther river?

Have you considered checking where the last
place she was ?

Or anything that would be suspicious around chartwell?.
Did the hairdresser's where audrey gibson last was seen,
Get checked was there any dumpsters around?
Where nobody could have seen her get hurt or dragged
somewhere.

If she wasn't seen walking home or even leaving
the salon ?Only by the women who attended to early on (as she says)...

Where else could she be.

it's pathetic searching the river she was bound to be
seen on camera or someone walking by?

But she wasn't .....
