Zharian Watkins has been missing since Friday night

The search for a 13-year-old who went missing after jumping off a Bridge into the Waikato River in Huntly is resuming today.

Searchers have been scouring the river for Zharian Watkins, who is presumed dead after he jumped off the 10-metre-high Tainui Bridge about 5.30pm on Friday.

Searchers and the police dive squad postponed the search at nightfall yesterday.

The search is resuming again today, police say.

Zharian landed on his friend, who had jumped just before him.

The other boy was taken to Waikato Hospital with a gash to his head and an injured shoulder.
