Searchers looking for a teenager presumed drowned after he was swept out to sea at a beach on Auckland's west coast will scour the coastline at low tide.
Zebedee Pua, 15, of Sunnyvale, Henderson and his 13-year-old brother were caught in a rip at O'Neill Bay, near Bethells beach, about 2.30pm on Thursday.
Searchers have been scouring the area on land and sea for Zebedee.
They did not search on Saturday, but will resume searching the coastline at low tide on Sunday, a police spokeswoman told NZ Newswire.
Low tide is due on Sunday afternoon.
Zebedee's brother Raymond Pua says his older brother had helped a nine-year-old girl to safety before getting into trouble himself, slipping underwater.
"I kept on shouting for someone to help him. And then he shouted out my name to help him, but I knew there was no way I could," Raymond told the Weekend Herald.
He ran to raise the alarm and lifeguards were on the scene within 10 mins.
