The Green Bay Packers have returned home to the expected heroes welcome after winning a tense Superbowl 45 against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Dallas.
But not all their fans were left delirious inside the two billion dollar stadium, after 12 hundred ticket holders were left without seats, deemed not safe enough to sit on.
As Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers threw the first of his three Superbowl touchdowns, a portion of Cowboys Stadium remained strangely empty.
Over 1200 hastily installed temporary seats covered in tarpaulin risked collapse if used.
Locked out of the ground, furious fans who'd paid over $1100 to sit on them let fly.
Organisers finally did let them in and scrambled to find extra seats, but with little room in the sold out stadium, 400 were told they could only walk the concourse or watch the game at a near by bar.
The NFL moved quickly into damage control, offering refunds at three times the value of the tickets, and free seats to Superbowl 46.
The debacle is a timely reminder for Rugby World Cup organisers here.
Eden Park's waiting on over 10,000 temporary seats, as well as the resource consent to install them.
And the last thing they want is upset fans.
