Last week it was cricketer Kevin Pietersen who came out looking like a twit for his tweet on Twitter when angry at being yanked from England one-day and twenty20 squads, and now a second – with a Kiwi connection - has put his hand up for the same dishonour.
Dimitri Mascarenhas, last playing for England in a Twenty20 match for England over a year ago, is under the chastising glare of the English Cricket Board following two tweets directed towards the England selector, Geoff Miller, according to a UK-based website.
The Guardian website reported a post from the Twitter account @DimiMascarenhas as: "Geoff miller is a complete knob. He had no clue what he is doing. Fing prick."
But if that glorious cut wasn’t enough, it was following up with a massive hook: "Chairman of selectors came to Liverpool and didn't even come and say hi ... what a prick. Doesn't take much to say hello, does it."
Mascarenhas, an all-rounder for English county side Hampshire, played for the Otago Volts last year and could possibly face bans after his alleged e-outbursts.
The messages, similar to Mascarenhas’ central contract with England, are no longer about, having disappeared from Twitter feed.
Pietersen’s outburst last week has landed him a hearing after publishing the tweet that read: "Done for rest of summer! Man of the World Cup T20 and dropped from the T20 side too...its a f*** up!!!".
