Emotion filled the air as the second body was removed from the Christchurch house
A second body has been removed from beneath a Christchurch house but police expect to remain at the property until at least the end of the week.
Police have been at the scene since two bodies were discovered under the floor last Friday.
One is thought to be Tisha Lowry, who lived a couple of doors away and has been missing for almost a year, and the other a 35-year-old woman who lived at the house.
Her 32-year-old husband, who reported her missing last weekend, has been charged with her murder.
Detective Inspector Tom Fitzgerald said a post mortem examination was to be carried out on the second body tomorrow morning and it was hoped the formal identification of both bodies would be completed in the afternoon.
Police had found no other items of interest but they would be digging under the house all week.
He said police were not expecting to discover further bodies buried at the Wainoni property, "but as I say, we're only in the early stages of getting into that scene. The priority was getting those bodies out".
