Porirua police are looking for a serial flasher who exposes himself to teenage boys.

The latest incident involving the man, described as aged about 50, happened on August 8 at Tawa, north of Wellington.

Detective Terry Laws said a 13-year-old boy was at the Tawa Railway Station about 2.20pm, when a man called out to him. The boy turned around and saw that the man was masturbating. The boy ran off.

"We believe this man is a European, about 50 years old, of medium build with grey hair.

Mr Laws said there had been other incidents that police thought involved the same man.

"There have been a number of similar incidents in the last year around the Tawa and Linden railway stations and one incident near Tawa College," he said.

"The general description given in all the cases seems to point to the same person being involved."

Police believe the offender was targeting younger teenage males and wanted to locate him before his behaviour escalated into something more sinister.
