Sam Judd is probably best known here as the victim of a shark attack in the Galapagos Islands back in 2007.
In a roundabout way that attack led him to co-ordinate campaigns to clean up the coastline first of the Galapagos Islands and this weekend of Great Barrier Island.

He's looking for volunteers to join him and he told Sunrise all about it

The details: Friday 3 April and Saturday 4 April with bad weather dates 1 and 2 of May

Sustainable Coastlines are looking for volunteers to help out in this event and clean the coastlines of Aotea/Great Barrier Island. The boat departs Quay Street ferry terminal in downtown Auckland on 8am Saturday and returns 7:30pm on Sunday. Contact sustainablecoastlines@hotmail.com to reserve your seat, or find out more here.
