Video: Should Dads get four weeks paid parental leave?

Fathers should get 4 weeks paid parental leave. It is almost 2010, and i think equality should be more present in this day and age than it is. Fathers teach little boys how to be men, and little girls what a man is. We need more men in our schools, creches, and training institutions also. The government says we cannot afford it. I can think of a few things that could easily be dropped ( trips to paris), and not missed (claiming payouts to live in a $1,000 a week home when you already own one in Wellington), but the societal benefits of more fathers having that opportunity is huge!

Giving the parents the choice of how they wish to use there paid parental leave is a great idea. This allows for flexibility and opportunity for the parenting team to decide how they manage those first months after baby is born; opportunity is created where dads are allowed to better support there wives, partners, and families.

i think it is just what this country needs,as a father of 4 and now the primary care giver,ive had the privilage to see my 11 mth old girl grow.i never got that with my sons,i was working to keep them feed and clothed.i am fortunit to have a motived partner who want to better her self and give me the chance to enjoy our baby,it a great feeling to see every thing u teach them come to light,its more than words can say,i wish more dads didnt have to be a slave to our world and could just stop and enjoy there children better
