Former All Black Robin Brooke, under investigation after accusations of sexually assaulting a teenage girl, is facing further woes as his baby daughter has been hospitalised with a serious breathing problem.

The Herald on Sunday quoted a "close family friend" who said four-month-old Rymer had been in Tauranga Hospital for more than a week.

"Rob and Hayley have been taking turns sitting with her, doing the nightly vigil. It's a pretty tough time for them," the friend said.

Fiji police are investigating allegations Brooke twice groped a 15-year-old girl while holidaying in Fiji on New Year's Eve then attacked her 17-year-old male friend Jordan Whittaker when he attempted to intervene.

No charges have been laid.

Whittaker has reportedly filed a civil suit seeking $200,000 in damage while the girl's family say they just want an apology.

Can't we just wait for the other half of the story? Shelly has a point that New Year's creates all sorts of wild behaviour. If the girl's/Jordan's side of the story is entirely accurate, then yes, I agree it was deplorable behaviour. But maybe it is not quite all as has been stated - a bunch of excited (angry/drunk or whatever) teenagers aren't necessarily the most reliable at telling a story in precise detail, and I think we need to wait until/if we hear the other side of the story before we make judgments. I didn't quite understand the inconsistency whereby they all wanted an apology, but supposedly Robin wanted to speak with the girl the next day but she "was too angry to meet with him". Umm????? That's what I mean - I think we need to hear both sides before condemning someone.

Shelly, you are a complete idiot. REad the stories properly, or get someone to read them to you if you can;t understand them yourself. That 15 year old is far from lucky, Robin Brooke is a disgusting thug, and while everyone feels for his wife and children, he still deserves to be punished for what he did.The 15 year old was apparently staying with another family in Fiji - what is the harm in that? You are a bit weird I think.

How come it took a week before all this groping and the attack on the other person to come to light. Could it be that they found out who it was and saw a way to make a name for themselves and some money.I am sure there was alot of groping going on all over the world on New Years Eve.A 15 year old on hoilday in a different country without her parents I would say she was lucky very lucky that was all that happened to her after all we have all heard of alot worse happening to people on holiday in a different country Her parents must have so much trust in her that she is laughing at them. A 15 year old on hoilday in another country without them.Who wanted the good time the girl or her parents.
Now Robyn's daughter is very sick leave the man alone so he can be there for his wife and family. My thought go out to Robyn and his family. I hope all goes well for you all and your little one gets better soon. A sick child is a parents worse nightmare. My thought to you and yours.

I have a question for the 15 year old girl that was groped and her parents. Why do you let your daughter travel on her own to another country in fiji without accompanying her. It is understandable if she had family there shes staying with in another country but with the Whitaker whether they your friend. I dont know most parents wont let their kids go to other countries unless it was very good supervision.I think $200,000.00 is alot of money and who for the girl or whitakers. Of course he needs to be charged but if they dont have that kind of money their would be other options open. Yes sad about their baby hope baby gets well very soon.
