'Significant' update today on Kenya crash

By 3 News online staff

A press conference is being held this afternoon at Bethlehem College, where it's expected “significant” new information about the fatal Kenyan bus crash will be revealed.

Former student Caitlin Dickson, 19, and parents Brian and Grace Johnston died after the mini-van they were travelling in crashed and rolled into a ditch.

They were among 12 students and seven adults in Kenya on a mission trip to work in a Kenyan school.

The driver of the minivan was also killed.

Funerals were held last week for the three New Zealand victims of the crash.

More than 1000 mourners gathered at the Bethlehem Events Centre last Thursday to farewell Caitlin.

The funeral for Brian and Grace Johnston was held at the venue on Saturday. Bethlehem College principal, Eoin Crosbie, described the couple as "outstanding parents" to their 10 children.
