@ Harkinder Singh
Please correct me if I am wrong but not all Sikhs carry the 5 items of Guru Gobind Singh.
It is not compulsory and those who don't still call themselves Sikh.
You don’t have to dress in a burqa, wear a scarf or a hijab and still be a Muslim.
While wearing certain clothing might be important for that person it is not synonymous with religion and is often cultural.

For example A Sikh, as far as I know, can't carry ceremonial knives (Kirpan) in every place he goes or on a plane.
A bank can refuse a woman in a burqa.
A Hindu would not wear a loincloth in Europe.
This doesn't mean that airlines or banks discriminate based on religion.
In some jobs it is even prohibited to wear any clearly visible religious symbols

Also, I think that the club that refused entry to Mr. Singh was not a public place Moreover, the club was actually not the place where the ceremony was held but where people went afterwards to have a drink.

You state that you cannot compare this place with Sikh place of worship because Sikh place of worship is meant for worshiping, and there are basic requirements to be observed if one wants to worship there.
Why not?
Maybe those rules are more important for you or Mr. Karnail Singh but that doesn’t mean they are important for non Sikhs or for people without religious beliefs.
Why are religious rules more important than other rules? Meaning no disrespect but in the end they are all made up by people. The importance of the rule is relative.

There is nothing wrong in enforcing rules. However, the role itself needs changing so that all people have access to the services to a public place without any discrimination based on age, religion, belief etc - the fundamentally recognied human freedoms.

This club seems to be a public place which is accessible to all citizens without discrimination. Moreover, this person was invited to the event at this place. We cannot compare this place with Sikh place of worship because Sikh place of worship is meant for worshiping, and there are basic requirements to be observed if one wants to worship there.

And the following statement...
"Ms Bremner says she has no problem with the club’s rules against headwear but says it is obvious exceptions need to be made when it comes to religion."
Why?
Isn't this a secular society?
Why is a religious rule more important than any other rule.
Non religious rules are just as important to some people as religious ones.

What a nice chap.
However, if he was so embarrassed, why did he contact TV3?

And what is everybody so upset about, that the club enforces the rules?
Maybe it’s a stupid rule but it is the rule. You either enforce it for everybody (Hindus, Jews, Muslims Jehovah Witnesses and Jedi Knights) or for nobody.
He was not forced to take it off and he didn’t have to go in.
If I am invited to a Sikh temple I respect the rules, cover my head take my shoes off. Maybe it’s a stupid rule but I do not expect them to change the rules for me, I don’t have to go in.

Rather sad to hear the idiot that emailed the show during the story. Just goes to show what a bunch of morons belong to that club.
