With New Zealand’s enticing golden beaches, summer waves and glistening swimming pools, who can resist temptation when it comes to enveloping ourselves in summer?

Sure your skin and hair may get slightly beaten by the harsh sun and drying sea water, but there are plenty of delicious skin and hair care products available to us in NZ to pamper ourselves with after our long days outdoors and get our skin and hair looking lustrous again.

The most important summer beauty routines are wearing sunscreen and rehydrating your hair.

There are even sunscreen products available for your hair if you happen to grow gills and become a fish over the summer months and want to keep your hair in tip top shape.

Kerastase Soleil Collection
A hair care range which includes a spray or a crème for applying before exposure to chlorinated pools or salt water. Can be applied to dry or wet hair.

A shampoo bath to help eliminate build up and strengthen the hair fibre.

A light repair and an ultimate repair replenishing crème which leaves scalp soothed and hair nourished.

This range is fantastic for regular pool swimmers whose hair turns a shade of green and gets that fake shine on it. Or if you have coloured hair and don’t want a lot of fading over summer.

They are very intense products and only a small amount of product is required, otherwise you could end up slightly greasy.

Prices range from $36 to $62
Available at Kerastase Salons

Giovanni Colorflage
Giovanni is a lovely organic hair care range. With more people I work with turning the organic way I have found myself trying out organic ranges in both skin care and hair care and Giovanni is one of my favorites in hair care.

The Colorflage shampoos and conditioners use different berries to enrich your hair colour and have Platinum, blonde, brunette, black and red available.

I have been using the platinum one to maintain my blonde. It isn’t as noticeable as some toning shampoos I have tried but it does work subtlety and does make my hair feel good with a nice shine. I would defiantly recommend.

Also worth a try if you have unmanageable hair is the Giovanni Frizz Be Gone. It is a serum to control frizzy hair and also add protection form thermal styling. It will tame down your locks and give shine and control.

Frizz Be Gone RRP$25.50
Colorflage RRP$24.00

Kerastase Volumactive Collection
This is yet another devine creation from L’Oreal. I just love everything about Kerastase.

The Volumactive collection is for those with fine, flat, limp hair who wish to give their hair a new lease of life and get some body into it.

I sampled the shampoo on my fine coloured hair and was amazed to see how much volume I got. It really works. Check it out.

Volumactive has a shampoo bath, conditioner, and a masque available and also an in-salon treatment at Kerastase consultant salons.

Prices range from $36 to $62
