Sinking homes in Canterbury

Since the earthquakes parts of Christchurch have dropped by up to a metre.

And when you are at sea level, or not much above it, that metre drop can be a disaster.  There are now 1300 properties at risk of tidal flooding that were not at risk before the quakes.

What makes this disaster a nightmare is that while insurers are rebuilding earthquake damaged homes, some are planning to do so at current floor levels.

Natasha Utting talked to some of those affected.
