Watch a photo gallery of the final moments of the Manuia ship, renamed Venture 2 in Peter Jackson's remake of King Kong.

The 54-year-old ship was sunk using explosives to a depth of 1.7km in the Cook Strait today.

The ship was a prominent prop in King Kong, voyaging to the treacherous Skull Island in search of adventure.
