Sir Geoffrey: Why phone record gaffe matters

Andrea Vance is a Fairfax journalist. Readers of the Stuff website, and of many newspapers throughout the country, will be familiar with her work.

Three months of her phone records were given to the ministerial inquiry into the GCSB leaks. They shouldn't have been – the Prime Minister says that; the Speaker says that. And they're right.

Campbell Live asked the Speaker to join us, to explain how it happened. He declined our invitation.

But Sir Geoffrey Palmer is a former prime minister, and therefore former minister in charge of the GCSB too. He's now a leading expert in constitutional law.
