The new James Bond film has now passed Toy Story 3 to become Britain's second highest-grossing film ever.
According to newly-released figures, Skyfall now trails only Avatar at the UK box office thanks to a gross of £74.3 million.
The new 007 adventure snagged $1.9 million on Tuesday evening alone, according to estimates from Sony, taking the film from fifth place to second.
The new Bond film still has some way to go to pass Avatar - the 2009 sci-fi drama grossed £94 million in Britain.
Skyfall is released in New Zealand cinemas November 22 – read Kate Rodger’s review.
