Rap superstar Snoop Dogg is offering up his services to take over as boss of internet search engine Yahoo! following the sudden departure of its chief executive on Tuesday.

The ‘Drop It Like It's Hot’ hitmaker is convinced he'd be a great successor for Carol Bartz, who was ousted from the position after failing to turn around the firm's fortunes.

In a post on Twitter.com, he writes, "I'm takn (taking) over as tha (sic) CEO of Yahoo. Need sum (sic) of that Snoop Dogg content ya digg."

Stock market prices for Yahoo! jumped more than six per cent after the news of Bartz's exit and Snoop is claiming responsibility for the market increase.

He adds, "My name is already raisn (raising) tha (sic) stock price of Yahoo u hear me!! Bout (sic) to call a board meeting!"
