All Black Sonny Bill Williams has reportedly told friends he intends to move back to Sydney in a year, an Australian newspaper claims.
The Sunday Telegraph says both the Sydney Roosters and Parramatta are vying for the All Black’s services for the 2013 NRL season.
A source close to Williams says the 26-year-old has asking for advice about where to settle in Sydney, suggesting a return to the NRL is on the cards.
"Sonny has been asking a few mates about where he should live when he comes back to Sydney," the source told the Sunday Telegraph.
"Playing NRL is a definite option."
Williams, who is set to ply his trade with the Chiefs in next year’s Super Rugby competition, says he’s eager to wrestle the All Black number 12 jersey off incumbent Ma’a Nonu.
But Parramatta is staying mum on the speculation, with Eels chairman Ray Spagnolo saying he hasn’t heard a word from Williams on a possible shift.
Williams, who officially joins the Chiefs on January 9, said he would set up homes in Auckland, near his mother, and in Hamilton.
