South Park: The Game on the way
Mon, 05 Dec 2011 12:00p.m.
THQ has announced the development of South Park: The Game, which is in the works at seasoned developer Obsidian Entertainment.
Few other details are available for the game at this time, but more will be revealed in the next issue of GameInformer magazine, which confirmed the title after interviewing South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone.
The adult-themed license is going to be leveraged as an "epic role playing game", a result of developer Obsidian's strong background in the genre.
Obsidian has been responsible for games such as Fallout: New Vegas, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II.
“Our goal is simple: to put creative talent first,” says THQ’s Danny Bilson.
“Matt and Trey are arguably two of the most important comedic talents of their generation. Bringing their vision of South Park to the interactive space is a dream-come-true.”
The game is scheduled for release on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 in the second half of 2012.
