As part of the much-anticipated launch of the new Star Trek movie - the cast of the Starship Enterprise beamed down to London for the UK premiere on Monday night.
Held at the Empire Leicester Square, the new names that follow in the footsteps of William Shatner and the original TV series, walked the red carpet, met Trekkie fans and spoke of how the sci-fi experience was for them.
Chris Pine plays James T Kirk and says he was aware of the task ahead of him in helping reboot the franchise.
He was up for the challenge:
"Finding a balance between what Mr Shatner's characters have done and what we can do, that was exciting, that was something I felt that I could at least take a crack at."
The film itself follows the maiden voyage of the Enterprise and does something to explain how the crew members came to be on board.
Heroes actor Zachary Quinto puts on the pointy ears of Mr Spock and called it the "adventure of a lifetime, we're having a great time."
Stars Karl Urban and John Cho were also at the event signing autographs as was British actor Simon Pegg who takes over the role of Scotty.
He's happy to be part of the Star Trek universe: "It is a major influence on popular culture and it's amazing to become part of that thing."
The movie opens around the world in New Zealand 7 May 2009.
