Joseph Gordon-Levitt in the public service announcement

A host of Hollywood stars including Leonardo DiCaprio, Selena Gomez and Joseph Gordon-Levitt have appeared in a new public service announcement urging young Americans to vote in 2012.

The trio appear in the new light-hearted campaign, dubbed Vote 4 Stuff, alongside Zac Efron, Ellen DeGeneres, Jonah Hill and Edward Norton.

The stars come up with ridiculous ideas they want to vote for, with Hill saying he would make dogs "pick up his poop", while Efron insists tigers should be banned from schools.

DeGeneres jokes, "Women should get the vote."

However, the public service announcement (PSA) takes a serious turn when the celebrities insist viewers should consider voting to make a real change in the US as the upcoming presidential elections in November approach.
