Sting caused a sensation at his charity benefit in New York City on Thursday night - by teaming up Lady Gaga, Sir Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Dam Shirley Bassey and Debbie Harry for a star-studded ensemble performance.

The rocker hosted a gala at Carnegie Hall to raise money for his eco-friendly Rainforest Fund, which he set up in 1989 with his wife Trudie Styler.

The highlights of the night included a duet by Gaga and Sting, who took to the stage to perform Stand By Me together, while Sir Elton John stunned the audience with a raunchy rendition of Madonna's Like A Virgin - complete with semi-naked male dancers.

The explosive finale brought some of the biggest names in music together for a special rendition of Journey's ‘Don't Stop Believin', with Gaga, Sting, and Sir Elton joining forces with Springsteen, Blondie frontwoman Harry, and Dame Shirley Bassey for a star-studded spectacle.
