Drivers and everyone else can look forward to sunny weather over the long weekend and beyond.
The MetService says a high is parked over the country, bringing warm conditions that could last for a week.
The sunny weather has coincided with a group of naturists annual ‘go natural’ week.
Glenne Findon from the NZ Naturist Federation is hoping the warm weather will encourage people to strip down over the sun-soaked Labour Weekend period.
“Well it'll be great won't it? Labour Weekend's normally wet so we're really excited it’s going to be fine,” she says.

In Wellington it already feels like summer with people welcoming the sunny outlook after a long, wet winter.
Bob McDavitt from the MetService says much of the country will enjoy temperatures in the 20s, and the East Cape and Hawke's Bay should be warmest.
“[We are] expecting the peak temperatures to be on Sunday and Monday,” he says.
It also appears the sunny weather should stay with New Zealand up until Christmas.
