Ha ha! This is the fourth time I've heard Mr. Banks mention his 'affordable progress', but when has he really elaborated or explained what does that mean? My economics teach also really wants to ask Mr. Bank this question: he talks a lot about economy to scale, according to the councils now, the SuperCity model is based upon the fact that "the bigger the better" as opposed to the "small and beautiful" business model, how is he planning to make this big model work when we have seen so many business expanding to beyond their capacity to collapsing, how can we be assured that this will not happen to our SuperCity? Maybe someone could enlighten us on these points?
Arrr! "I've made mistakes but make no mistake.." has to be the most atrocious line I've ever heard, me hearties! It is almost as bad as some of the excuses I've heard from scoundrels on the plank.
who cares about len brown, he aint goanna make this city accelerate into a super city. He too old fashioned vote banks! hes goanna bring us into the 21st century.
Blair they do not have regional break outs anymore mainly because it was not viable for the networks. But to be fair Campbell Live had the Christchurch mayoral candidates on the other day which has even less nationwide appeal but I actually found it quite interesting.
Haha, John Banks you wouldnt know what diversity was if it slapped your across the face. I laugh when you say you will embrace diversity and all ethnicities, you only care about the rich, the white and the straight. Len Brown is getting my vote without a doubt!
Honest answer to the Poodle question bought back from the past- The more you know the more you know I don't know. My monies on you Banksie bring Auckland into the 21st Century and the rest will follow.
I think we should go back to the days of regional break outs on TV like we had in the 1980s that way if a network wanted to show something specific to Auckland like this mayoral debate they could show that to just Auckland and show something else to the rest of NZ since the rest of NZ doesn't really care what goes on in Auckland. A show like the Top Half they had in the 1980's would have been good for this debate.
