Suppression lifts for last Featherston accused

Friday 25 Jan 2013 4:00p.m.

Final Featherston accused named

Name and image suppression has lifted for the last of five people charged in relation to the fatal attack on Featherston man Glen Jones.

Tariana Jones, 32, is charged with entering Mr Jones' flat with intent to commit a crime and carrying a weapon.

The Australia-born Masterton resident is not related to Glen Jones or her co-accused.

She joins four others who face the same charge. They are:

  • Hayden Ranson, 27
  • Kristofer Jones, 23
  • Matthew McKinney, 28
  • Toni Miller, 22

Police say all five went into Mr Jones’ flat armed with an axe handle and a wooden bat. More charges are likely.

Glen Jones died of severe head injuries in Wellington Hospital the day after the attack.

The three men have been remanded in custody but both Tariana Jones and Miller have been granted bail.
