Should be ten times more than that!! The Court and justice system look after the criminals and leave the victims in most cases to fend for themselves and with huge legal bills to pay (Should be the other way around and the victims bills covered!!)....The NZ justice system is pathetic, and urgently needs an overhaul!!!

Kia kaha Susan, stay strong, We hear your plea and now is the year the Accountability and Responsibility needs to come from the Government of today for the non-action of those back then eleven years ago. $300,000 is such an insult! I am completely outraged! Especially when you consider it costs $90,000 a year to look after Bell and he's been in jail for the last 11 years.... So that's $990,000 for the psycho murderer and $300,000 for the blameless single mum. How is this fair?!!!

While I do not think any amount can compensate Susan for what she has been through, that some accountability has been admitted to and some money will go her way makes me a little joyful. I have personally met Susan and have always admired her Spirit in carrying on. My heart is also gladdened that a lawyer stood beside her in helping bring about some form of justice!!

High time all Government Servants and/or Agencies be held accountable, otherwise similar situations will not be properly investigated and perused.

Its a insult, we have a political and public service climate of no one is accountable. This shows what our government really thinks of us, that we are sheep and cows. They spend money when they want too, whose the real crimminals here.
