TVNZ CEO Rick Ellis has resigned, says the state broadcaster chairman Sir John Anderton.
Mr Ellis has joined Telstra in Australia and will start there in January 2012.
He will lead a new Telstra division called Telstra Digital Media, as Group Managing Director - Digital Media.He will have control of online assets such as Sensis, Bigpond, Trading Post and also IPTV businesses.
Mr Ellis will also be in charge of the partnership with Foxtel.
