Half of the world’s population start life as a boy, and all men – good and bad – are the products of their boyhood.
Yet overwhelmingly, the lead caregiver in a young male life, is female.
More often than not, mum does more child raising than dad and a boy's teacher will be female.
So dad’s role is, what?
How can we be good dads?
How can all of us, male and female, raise good boys?
Steve Biddulph has thought and written about this for many years.
His book Raising Boys has sold millions of copies, and is now into its third edition.
He is in Auckland at the moment, as a guest of St Kentigern School – where we went to interview him.
It is Mr Biddulph’s belief that fathers of young boys now are probably more attentive dads than their fathers were.
Steve Biddulph talks to Campbell Live about his views on raising boys.
