British glamour model-turned marketing phenomenon Katie Price, aka Jordan, has married a cage fighter with a penchant for women’s clothing.

The quickie wedding in Vegas to cross-dressing mixed martial artist Alex Reid was by far the most private and tasteful thing Jordan has ever done.

Her agent says the wedding wasn’t a publicity stunt, and it wasn’t. It was Jordan mopping up the damage of her last publicity stunt – when she dumped Alex Reid on reality TV show I’m a celebrity, get me out of here! two months ago.

“I realise I want to be on my own, I don’t want a relationship as of now,” she said in an interview after the show.

Let’s wind it back a bit – it wasn’t her first stint on the show.

Six years ago, Jordan went to the wilds of Australia to swallow bugs, and found low with has-been pop star Peter Andre – who had noticed something inside Jordan that drew him to her.

But he was to find that beauty, like breast implants, is sometimes only skin deep.

Following the split, popularity polls showed Jordan had become the most hated woman in Britain while Andre emerged looking like Nelson Mandela.

Her callous dumping of the cage fighter was the final nail in the coffin and the sympathy vote, that last week won him celebrity Big Brother, was the last rights.

“I’m not sorry,” Reid told reporters. “I love Katie Price.”

She had to do something, she had to marry him – but what happens now to her children with Andre, Princess Tiaamii and Junior Sawa?

Reid doesn’t scream father material, describing himself as a “try sexual”.

“There are some things I’d like to keep private but I’m open to trying almost anything,” he says.

Anything except dignity, perhaps.
