The ubiquitous London bus will have a piece of technology designed and manufactured in New Zealand helping keep it on the road after a new multi-million dollar radio communications system was installed in the fleet of 7500 buses.
Christchurch-based electronics company Tait has finished putting the new network in the buses which carry over six million passengers daily.
Tait managing director Frank Owen says London Buses wanted a highly reliable communications system and it was able to offer ongoing maintenance and support for the network.
The $19.71 million contract is one of the biggest the company has won.
