South Sydney winger Fetuli Talanoa appeared to be the main aggressor in a late-night melee depicted on CCTV footage, a court has been told.

Constable Daniel Haigh said Talanoa also appeared to have shoved a female, Jemaimah Pettybourne, out of the way.

The New Zealand-born Tongan rugby league player, 24, is charged with affray and behaving in an offensive manner by urinating in the street on July 25 last year at Bondi Junction.

Const Haigh said that after receiving calls from the public, he went to the scene and saw two women, including Ms Pettybourne, and a man, Carl Manu, in a parked car.

He noticed Mr Manu's T-shirt was bloodstained and he had injuries to his face.

He also saw three males walking nearby, leading him to ask Mr Manu if he had been in a fight with them.

Mr Manu replied he just wanted to go home.

Const Haigh said Ms Pettybourne told him it was a family dispute.

He spoke to the three males, who included Eddy Pettybourne and Talanoa, and was told they had not been fighting and the blood on their T-shirts was their own.

After telling them to leave the area, he said he saw Talanoa urinate against a wall and zip up his fly.

He later viewed CCTV footage from a nearby Subway outlet that showed a fight outside the premises.

The hearing is continuing in the Downing Centre Local Court.
