The New Zealand men's basketball team, preparing for a last-chance Olympic qualifying event, have finished a tournament in Brazil without a win after being beaten by Nigeria 74-66.

The defeats follows losses to the hosts and also to Greece.

Lindsay Tait, Mika Vukona and Alex Pledger were New Zealand's joint top-scorers against Nigeria with 10 points each.

The Tall Blacks are one of 12 teams taking part in an Olympic qualifier in Venezuela in which the last three spots for London are up for grabs.

Their first match is against Macedonia next Wednesday (NZ time).
