A 78-year-old man has died after a Te Aroha house fire on Monday evening.
The man was pulled unconscious from the house on Centennial Ave, but resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful.
The Fire Service discovered the fire in progress after being called to a Medic alert at the address around 9:10pm
Police say they are currently investigating the cause of the fire, but are also focusing on supporting next-of-kin who have yet to be notified.
