Telecom is apologising to customers whose broadband speeds were slashed because of a technical fault, and has refunded the 150,000 users affected.
The company admitted to causing major problems after making upgrades for a new service in December, which caused broadband usage to be miscalculated so that customers were overcharged, or lumped with slow internet speeds.
A letter has been sent to disgruntled customers over the Christmas break, informing them of the mistake, and all 150,000 have now been reimbursed.
Spokesperson Emma-Kate Greer says they are unsure yet how much the muck-up has costed Telecom.
