Wow thank you Paul Reynolds and Telecom you have outdone yourselves yet again. I and many other customers in the Stratford area have not been able to send text messages and cannot call anyone unless it is an emergency. No notification this was going to happen, but hey down here we have radio stations and even newspapers that likeminded people such as myself do read and listen too. I am on a 24mth contract and am currently looking at the legality of my contract and have decided that Telecom have breached the Consumer Guarantees Act which I will be using in my defence. Oh and Paul the "give it a go" mindset that I and many other NZers have has changed from "give it a go" to "I am gone" mindset.

Wow. Most of these posts about a complicated technical issue seem to be written by small children with very little language skills. If you can't spell, punctuate or form a proper sentence just shut up. You can't even present your own opinions properly, so why should you be allowed to post comments on something that is way over most peoples heads?

What can one expect from any group of plon.... who have shown such astounding and mind blowing intellect to approve a mindless childish scribble that they call a 'LOGO'. Also, I recall when the C.E.O's salary was made public, the company defending it by counteracting with the claim that 'he' had assembled a 'world class team' - if that be the case, where are the world class results ? I rest my case!!....

Telecom can't sort out the XT issue, all the TOP people has to resign their million dollar post rather than disturbing the NZ landers. It's not effect only for Taupo all over NZ.

I do not believe the chief turkeys head should roll since he only inherited the uncompetitive relationship between Telecom and Alcatel/Lucent.

The fault lies with the decision makers to use the Alcatel/Lucent 3G equipment when it is a well known fact amongst telco players that they have the worse performing 3G equipment on the market today. Also the planners should be held accountable for not adhering to normal telco planning practices of "redundancy"

The "gummermint" should not be involved. That horse bolted 20 years ago. XT was never compulsory. The 27 service still works fine. If some people have been misled by Telecom advertising hype a class action should be brought. The telecom board should however show some gumption and sacrifice the chief turkey. That's where the buck stops.

The government should definately get involved because this is of national importance.

Businesses, government, civil defence and private people need a reliable telecomunication service. Sadly this has not been delivered.

I think the government inaction over this is shameful.

the govt sold the business to telecom years ago and it just gets worse as each owner rips it up for profit and puts nothing back
The govt needs to take away its monopoly not bail it out

xt is the worst thing ever they just need to of sorted out their problems before adversting it to the public and selling it they needed to do a test run before selling the network. No the goverment dose not need to step in they will just screw it up cause they are basicly and auotcratic government they dont listen to us...e.g anti smacking bill?? vodaphone would get more people from telecom if they had great txt deals they would get most of the youth
