The Christchurch crowd came out to see the stars helping raising money for their broken city.

There was singing, dancing with the stars, even All Blacks painting the cathedral.

The telethon broadcast live around the country and out on the internet, with famous Kiwis supporting the cause around the world

“We do have family in Christchurch so we are affected by the earthquake and I just wanted to come out and show my support,” says actress Anna Paquin.

It’s all about raising for money for Christchurch, and the money quickly rolled in.

Its exactly three months since the quake and a minute of silence was observed.

After five hours, over $900,000 had been raised, Christchurch locals amazed with all the support.

And just before six they hit $1 million, and there is less three hours to go in the global telethon, perfect for a last minute rush of money.
