I had a friend of over twenty years that I met through a Christian youth group pulled a similar stunt on me. The talk I saw on Campbell live from this woman was very familiar, "I fully intend to pay you back" etc. I will never lend significant money to anybody ever again after this. Remember folks, if they don't pay you back, then what? This can take a long time to sort out and you don't get your money back. You may find yourself mixed up in somebody else's problems. You may get other creditors telling you not to lay a complaint or they will miss out and blame you and then they'll come after you. If a person needs money badly enough, forget everything else you know about them. They need money right now, desperately and will do anything to get it. If it's more money then you are prepared to walk away from if it doesn't come back - don't do it!
