New York City's Robert F.Kennedy Bridge has been shut down (Reuters file)

New York City's Robert F.Kennedy Bridge is being re-opened after it was closed due to an abandoned truck being found that smelt of gas.

The city's Bomb squad was at the scene and carryed out investigations on the U-Haul rental truck, but no bomb was found.

It comes just days after a failed bomb attack on New York's Times Square.
