Sarah Palin is keen to meet her idol, former UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, but the Iron Lady isn't so keen.

Thatcher, 85 and in poor health, apparently has better things to do.

“I am just hoping Mrs. Thatcher is well enough to see me as I so admire her,” Palin said recently.

But the Guardian quotes an unnamed "ally" of Thatcher: “Lady Thatcher will not be seeing Sarah Palin. That would be belittling for Margaret. Sarah Palin is nuts.”

Another aide said if there was a meeting, it would be "low-key", but as low-key isn't really Palin's style, Slate's Stephen Davis says the meeting is unlikely.

That, and because Palin's "nuts", of course.
