Jane Deezy and Loui Knuxx – ‘Tobacco Wine and Green’

Sitting rightfully at number one this week is Jane Deezy's 'Tobacco, Wine and Green' single off her EP, 'Based On Actual Events'. Additional to the EP version is Loui Knuxx- a Kiwi rapper from New Plymouth now residing in Melbourne.

‘TWG’ is a remix of Lil Wayne's ‘Pussy, Money, Weed’. Both rappers do justice to his beat (ironic I know)- I can see the smoke curling in the air and ash all over the table; the air also smells two kinds of funky in this picture- and with that kind if seduction these two have created good hype for the video to drop in a weeks time.

JVerse feat End - A.C.A.D

JVerse's ode to Auckland with 'A.C.A.D' feat End is how I've always thought of Auckland and fun- sun, bouncy-sampled beats, people chilling and sticky green stuff. J sings the hook to A.C.A.D as well and has rapper, 'End' do the second verse whose flow reminds me of the new school cats coming up, and through the Ayebro charts.

MusicSince89 – ‘Starry Eyed’

The beat to Starry Eyed feels like its going to drop into a drum and bass number but stays within the bpm of hip hop as the verses come in-it is a good way to hook a listener in. MusicSince89 have a presence on beat that's sure of its self; the result being, the sound of the words have you interested before hearing what they are first- dope.

Loui The Zu - ‘Listen To Your Heart’

Can someone say Frank Ocean or The Weekend? It's encouraging to see this style on the chart and all I can say is more please.  Imagine the electric guitar in 'Listen To Your Heart' live-it's a good picture. The only thing about the track is all the reverb on the hook being a bit too much, maybe.

Badcrop – ‘Hysteria’

Badcrop are two emcees who are clearly focussed on they're lyrics first and are also really good at the craft. Both are witty and I'll definitely be looking out for what they're up to from now on.
