When it came to choosing a theme or colour palette for our wedding, I was stumped to begin with.
I began trawling google images for wedding inspiration when I stumbled across a photo of some bridesmaids dressed in a stunning shade of green. I stored away the photo in my inspiration folder and continued trawling.
Later, I happened across an NZ website featuring funky men's ties, and spotted a tie that would go perfectly with the colour of the dresses I found earlier. Again, I tucked the picture away safely in my inspiration folder.
Finally, after MANY hours of searching the net, I had put together a pretty comprehensive folder of inspiration images, and turned these into my inspiration board – the modern girl's guide to a wedding scrapbook! (My inspiration board is below if you want to have a nosey).
And then it happened. My colour emerged! Apple green!
Fortunately, FH didn't hate the idea, so that was it – decision made! Now comes the tricky part, finding bridesmaids dresses in apple green.
I was hoping to buy off the rack, just to help the budget along, but obviously winter isn't the best time to be buying summer dresses now is it! So we either have to cross fingers and toes and hope that apple green is 'the colour' for the coming spring and summer, or we'll need to enlist the services of a dressmaker (not so great for the budget).
Me and my sister have had a bit of a hunt at the local fabric stores, and have discovered there's many different shades of apple green. In fact some I wouldn't call apple so much as lime, or avocado. You can't compare apples with oranges you know! But I digress...
Come to think of it, I've seen a handful of cars painted in the exact colour I want – one even parks on our street! Typical!
So the hunt for the perfect apple green dresses or fabric continues.
Any suggestions warmly received :)
