At 31, Colin Mitchell has just moved back home with his parents.

Mitchell once had dreams, big dreams, and a decade ago he started a metal band called Army of Darkness.

“We played our first show with The Mint Chicks and it was their first show as well,” he says.

Army of Darkness spent $5000 pressing 300 vinyl records in America.

But while The Mint Chicks went on to win acclaim and awards, Army of Darkness did not, winning very few fans, and only selling 25 records.

“A lot of people brought the tee shirts and wore them proudly until they heard the band then they sort of disappeared,” he says.

They have a music video, which sits in a mostly unfinished state on YouTube. While videos of cats get millions of views, their music video, online for two years, sits at 32 views.

Perhaps they were ahead of their time, but back at home, Mitchell is pondering his past.

Earlier today, Colin Mitchell sold all of his bands records on TradeMe for $297.50 cents. He's finally rid of them.

Due to the success of his auction, Mitchell's re-released the bands second album for free, ‘Too Shit to Steal’. Listen to it here.
