Siona Fernandes is a classical dancer, has a master’s degree in psychology and only took up boxing two and half years ago, for fitness.
Originating from Goa, she came to New Zealand in 2008 for a holiday.
Now, after winning the national fly weight title last year, the 29 year old has been chosen as one of two women to represent New Zealand the London Olympics.
