Reporter Dr Lillian Ng follows six New Zealand babies from inside the womb, to birth, and throughout their all-important first year of life.

The infants are just a selection of a larger group who are taking part in the biggest ever study into the lives of New Zealanders - a cradle-to-grave survey which aims to answer the fundamental question: what makes us who we are?

How would YOU feel if it were you? Where is the empathy?
