Rupert Murdoch

Since New Year's Day, Rupert Murdoch has been alive and well on Twitter.

His spelling and ideas have come under fire from many Twitter users, including one very close to him.

Over 67,000 people follow Murdoch, and one of his tweets - "Maybe Brits have too many holidays for broke country" - has annoyed them, including, it's believed, his wife Wendi Deng.

"RUPERT!!! delete tweet!" she tweeted, then: "EVERY1 @rupertmurdoch was only having a joke Promsie (sic)!!!"

Murdoch deleted the tweet.

Historically, Deng has always defended her husband. She once defended him against a custard pie during question time at the phone hacking inquiry.

She's referenced this on Twitter, too, saying: "Thank you for messages telling me the man with the pie who attacked my @rupertmurdoch is on twitter but i dont want to know more".

The fact either of them is on Twitter still seems strange, considering two years ago Murdoch said the web was simply "a place for porn, thievery, and hackers".

Of course, anything these two say has to be taken with a grain of salt when you consider Deng tweets at Kim Kardashian, and Murdoch enjoyed the film We Bought A Zoo.
