The Robinson family

The Robinson family

Last week Campbell Live introduced you to Cliff Robinson, 75-year-old who cares for his two adult, intellectually disabled children.

We met the three of them, because Cliff is among a group of parents who have gone to the appeal court to fight to be paid by the government for the time they spend caring for their disabled children.

If someone outside their families cared for them, they would be paid but family members do it for free - and they are a handful.

At the time Cliff laid down a challenge to the Health Minister.

He asked Tony Ryall to spend half a day in his Thames home to assess for himself, whether what he does is work - Tony Ryall said no, and Labour's health spokesperson also declined.

But the Greens say it is an important issue - and they put their MP where their mouth is.

How about the council working on cutting the costs of running their animal welfare dept instead of chasing the responsible dog owners. I bet the $12 milion to run the dept is gold standard. For $232,000 a week what are we getting. Maybe they should pull their heads in and live with their means, like the rest of us!u
